"Love & Wine"
Husband / Wife team Chris and Vickey Battles met back in 1998 when both were managing sister restaurants on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay. Both would meet at the end of a long day and commiserate over the trials of the long, arduous shifts and the challenges they posed. Commiseration created a bond that lead to friendship: that friendship then evolved into love. It wasn’t long before Chris brought on to work with alongside of him at Windows on the Water. Chris’s passion for wine was shared over many incredible dining experiences. As their relationship grew, so did Vickey’s appreciation this wonderful fermented beverage. In 2001 Chris and Vickey were married. They honeymooned, where else, the vineyards of Sonoma and Napa Valley.
Months later, Chris would partner up with, then, Window’s dining room manager, John Nordhus, to take on a great wine adventure called Morro Bay Wine Seller. Over the next eight years, they, along with Vickey, would transform a small wine shop into a destination for wine enthusiasts, both locals and visitors from afar.
In January 2010, Chris and Vickey made the decision to take over the operations of the Morro Bay Wine Seller to build on its successes In addition to operating the wine store, Chris and Vickey continue to their duties at Windows on the Water restaurant, just above us in Marina Square, where Chris is the Wine Director / Sommelier and Vickey is one of the top servers in this award-winning dining room. “It’s a privilege to be able to do what we do, where we do it”

Over 25 years in the food service and hospitality industry, over eight years at Morro Bay Wine Seller, 11+ crazy years with Chris – “that will make anyone certifiable”.
JOYS OF LIFE:
Being a mother & a wife, great wine & food, walking the dogs on the beach, spending time with family and friends.
